Study for an Aggregate # 6
inkjet print of moles, blemishes, wrinkles and stray hairs, 14 x 11 in, 2008
Each piece in Studies for an Aggregate is increasingly abstracted from the versions in the previous two series. I divide each work into a grid of even sections, and then relocate the fragments, shifting the original point of focus. This new configuration no longer implies any facial resemblance. Instead it suggests a nebula, revealing connections between our own physical markings and those of the cosmos.
