Rehearsal for Unfolding the Universe, 2011

collage, glue, plastic, hair and dust, 66 x 36 x 30 inches

A sculptural collage from magazines pertaining to the body and the cosmos. They are placed together in a way that further drives the imagery outside of the body. Other elements like hair, dust and patches of glue are added to establish an absurdity of production. This assembly, like all of my work, reflects connections between self and the outside world, be it everyday or cosmological. Ads are cut out and intricately placed on wall and ceiling. Sections start out flat and slowly pile up building small masses. Cut spirals delicately hang and intertwine with one another.
